I never played MOBAs or MMOs or any of that to be honest, I got into league of legends because of my roomate 4 years ago, and I played it a lot for a year and a half or so but stopped playing like a year and a half ago. and I played a handful of games.

today I went to log in to play my first game after 8 months not because I really enjoy it but am generally curious to see how things changed. man this game is terrible. for those that never played that game its hard to describe, but imagine if your playing a game to rank up in a competitive ladder, well thats the whole point of that game. the biggest problem of it is that you can team up with other people , what people do is get their really good friend that shouldn't be in this game and curbstomp bad players

but quite honestly. it doesn't stop there. the game has an unreal amount of issues, and the reason that it never declines in popularity is that its a huge streamer culture game, more so than any game in the world. if you know an asian person. they probably play league of legends. anyway, so whats the issue with that game? they don't update shit to balance the game.

its like if I make a fighting game in 2009, and introduce characters every year, and then just make them more and more powerful. but slowly, slowly update the old characters to the point where there's like 50+ outdated characters where its a disadvantage to play them.

its honestly not the end of the problems with that game. I never in my life played a game where it has many many problems and the balance team is too inept to fix them. the balance tem of that game often responds to questions on twitter and their forum, but they literally avoid every question about the issues some people talk about and only focus to the shit they cater to.

tldr: never ever play league of legends. its a time sink and its quite frankly not a game anymore. its a mish mash of crap.

Pros of league of legends: its F2P and its not P2W

Cons of league of legends: literally fucking everything else. and especially, those imbecile fuckers that make up the community of that game, it would be so much fucking better for humanity if they were all put on a space shit and shipped off to the fucking abyss somewhere in the universe.

Not making a game balanced isn't due to inaptitude, having a rotating meta is just better to attract players.

This happens in many other games that aren't lol.

It was designed to make people fail college. Been saying it for a while. Still saying it now. I'll never stop saying.

I know at least 5 people who have had their college careers take the L or full on end over this game.

i failed two semesters before realising that i was failing college because its a time sink that tries to sink you in this "culture" "lifestyle" that is this game. you can't play this game for casual. its just takes too much time.

its beyond aids, its just unhealthy, they promote these pathetic streamers and they try to get you on the competitive culture, and you can become a pro gamer and all that bs. when its all kind of rigged against you being that. their ranked system is purposely made so that you cannot climb unless you get help.

so true.

I never understood the appeal honestly. I found defense of the ancients to be fun in wc3 but never liked the moba genre. Couldn't even really get into heroes of the storm and I'm a huge blizzard fanboy. There was a documentary on Netflix I found worth watching that might explain why the game is so popular though. You should check it out even if you're not a league of legends player.

ultimately tho i cannot stand the lane metas in these miserable piles of garbage, and dota 2 made me wanna jump into a pool of alligators

I played It casually some 5-6 years ago and it was ok, but even then i remember the community was the most toxic i have ever seen in a online game.

Now i play Heroes of Storm sometimes because i think its way more simple than LoL for someone playing casually without stress.

But if you hate the game so much just uninstall and move on to something else. I hear Dota 2 just got a massive patch that really changed the game.

Dude you are so right. The game and culture is cancer. Most students that I knew who played it were always the worst students and had horribly arrogant attitudes. For some reason that game makes people think their nerd ass don't stink.

I feel bad that all my younger brother plays is: CS:GO and League of Legends. Where in life did he go wrong?
He may not be 12 (it is 15) but he is your typical squeaker trash talker. Just thinking makes my blood boil. Will give him a beating after work hahaha (not actually, at least not today).

Hashinshin, is that you?!?

Yeah, League has some stupid frustrating shit, and has an insane grind and timesink required to climb the ladder. Fun game, but not any real reason for most people to do anything beyond play casually once in a while.

I really enjoy their tourneys, much better managed than dota, even though dota is a more fun game, League'd casters and other interview talents are much more professional and focus on the match, while dota's talents always talk crap during the game. It sucks.

Dude, League of Legends became a shitshow since ever the implementation of group of friends vs random players and creation of abusive champion mechanics.

I was in a similar place to you. Went back to test Mordkaiser(my favorite champion) and what do I get? Out of 6 matches, only one I had my team. The other ones a lot of my team members quit either in the middle or during the start.

Also the rank system is a useless piece of shit. They away put an unbalanced mess. My account is unranked as longer I can remember, and they still match me against a team full of diamonds.

Seriously, there was even a match that they put me against a team of pros(while my team has like 2 unranked, 1 gold and 1 silver) Who ever wants to play that shitshow? I did well quitting this game. The game I know and like died ages ago.

All this without touching the toxicity aspect of the game. Racism, death threats, you name it. The report button is just a button for you to press and feel better.

The top down perspective is what kept me away from it.

It looks like an uglier Warcraft 3. 🤮 🤮 🤮

In fact, any MOBA I see with the same camera down angle, I write it off instantly.

I really like it and had a ton of fun playing it some years ago.

The 2 big issues with the game though, and the reason why I eventually stopped playing, are how long matches can be and how due to its gameplay and toxic community it's only truly enjoyable if you are playing with a full team of friends and/or people you know. When you can coordinate and don't get trolls, people that start fighting with each other within the team or quitters it's really fun.

There was a time when it felt like everyone was playing and I knew a ton of people from both work and college that played. Back then I could basically play every day with people I knew and it's honestly some of the most fun I've had with a multiplayer game. But then some people stopped playing and due to work/studies/family, etc it became increasingly hard to coordinate with more than 1-2 people at a time so eventually I stopped too.

There's other modes you can play. I've played like 10K+ matches combined in the other modes and only like a handful of matches from the main mode. My favorite was Dominion (basically like domination), until they removed that mode. Now I mostly play ARAM and some TFT too.

On the contrary, it's gotten better and better throughout the years, remaining a fun time sink that doesn't get too stale thanks to new champs, reworks, meta shifts and significant map changes season to season to keep things fresh.

It's addictive as hell, wish is it's main negative. Like Gears 2, it's almost too good. The toxicity can suck, unless you embrace it and revel in it after a time.

As an eSport it's also pretty tops, with lots of different regions splits to watch and a few international events spread throughout the year. Riot goes all out with the big events, with solid musical performances accompanied by some amazing presentations:

Then you have multiple awesome cinematic trailers expanding the lore and/or characters, giving us matchups we have wanted to see in real time or ones we'd have never imagined:

League is more than just a singular MOBA at this point. It's looking to become a multimedia giant.

I was frequently spending my time playing League of Legends a few years ago. Not too heavily, i believe i managed Gold Rank and bought a few skins. Then on a faithful day that i'll never forget it so happened that me and my team lost a number of matches in a row, can't exactly recall how many, but suffice to say that i uninstalled and never looked back.

The community never bothered me, because i don't care about strangers, on the contrary it was very entertaining. What killed the game was the realization that i wasn't having fun.

Now I get my fix from those 15 min mobile MOBAs, much more tolerable downtime with the same kind of enjoyment.

1 hour per match is just a massive waste of time.

Disagree. This is one of reasons why Lol became such a dreadful game to play and watch. They never think about how the new champ will work on the game. They just create a new stupid demented move which is eyecandy to people like you and get over with it. This is why Yasuo will still be the most hated champ, because they never though about how his abilities would impact the other players. But hey look-SUDDENWINDWALLBLOCKALL, you're dead and thats the eyecandy right here.

Also another bad point of yours. They don't create metas, players do. They create the meta and new playstyles, while Riot goes to balance any potential abuser.

When Riot started interfering in how things go, it becames boring. It ended not being a choice from the players but rather from Riot.

Well, they think about it to the extent of: Make new char OP the first few weeks to maximise sales, then nerf them to a more normalised state later on when the new champ is right around the corner. Rinse and repeat $$

You seem salty about a champ released a long while ago that people have been able to deal with well for ages. New mechanics are fun to play with, if all new champs were restricted to just trying to be in perfect harmony with all the rest of the champs they would become boring.
Also another bad point of yours. They don't create metas, players do. They create the meta and new playstyles, while Riot goes to balance any potential abuser.
This isn't a rebuttal to anything I said, as I was talking about what makes the game fun in general, not what Riot gets credit for.
When Riot started interfering in how things go, it becames boring. It ended not being a choice from the players but rather from Riot.
Riots job is to monitor the game balance and keep things in check. They'll allow things to exist for quite awhile even if unconventional but sometimes for the health of the game certain strategies like funnel comps should get demolished.

Man this is so fucking real. Now with colleges pushing esports, LoL is destroying more lives than ever. It's got an attractive quality to it, but once you spend time with it you quickly realize there's simply too much to keep track of. Also, I don't know why, but it seems most hardcore players of the game are socially inept and morally degenerate selfish ass hats. It's so sad.

That champion just express the route they were taken(it actually says a lot tbh). But if salty is the word you want to use then I have no reason to even read the rest of your post.
Well, they think about it to the extent of: Make new char OP the first few weeks to maximise sales, then nerf them to a more normalised state later on when the new champ is right around the corner. Rinse and repeat $$

This is true. They used to buff champions for no reason, then they soon releases a new skin(or a new champion like you said). I remember a time when Vayne was incredibly powerfull yet they buff her and everyone was scratching their heads. Same with Zed.

But my point was gameplay design, which is why I mentioned Yasuo. He could be the weakest champion in the entire roster, people would still don't like him. The problem lies in his kit.

I mainly play dota, but i do enjoy going back to LoL once in awhile. Im decent at it, but my issue is I dont know who i can play in which lane, and 99% of the time i get yelled at for who i pick.

Are you serious?) I used to mostly play DotA, but the number of players decreases, and in LoL only increases. In General, it is strange that all projects Riot Games are cooler than their competitors. The base players, in the last time is huge. Not to mention that they have long since won the top Twitch in viewership. So to say that this is the worst game, at least strange. 115 million monthly play!!!! And this is data not only for Asia, but for the entire planet. Moreover, DotA remains popular mainly in the CIS and Eastern Europe.

False. It's a great game where in never gets stale due to constantly being updated. Same is true for Dota and such which followed this way.

There's a mute button if you need it.
